In this video, I walk you through the process of conducting an inventory count in Digit. I've created a custom view called InventoryCount, which organizes the data by Bin, Item, Label Number, Quantity, Unit of Measure, and Package Type. I demonstrate how to adjust quantities for any discrepancies found during the count and how to document these adjustments. Additionally, I explain how to handle unlabelled items and the option to export data for easier modifications. Please follow these steps to ensure our inventory is accurate and up to date.

Here's how I would recommend to do an inventory count right now in Digit. So, on the inventory, view on the Labels tab, I've created a custom view.
0:13
And I'm calling it InventoryCount. And I've set it up this way so that it goes Bin, Item, LabelNumber, Quantity, UnitOfMeasure, PackageType.
0:26
And then I've created a custom field called InventoryCount. And first I've grouped it by Bin, and then I've grouped it by Item.
0:36
So this will allow you on a per-bin basis to see, okay, how many labels am I expecting to see for each of these different types.
0:45
So what you could do is you can basically go to that area, you can say, okay, in this location, I should see five of these.
0:55
In this case, we don't know what the package type is, so I'll just have to, from context, figure that out.
1:01
and we'll see Let's assume that, uh, I check and all of these look good, except that I've noticed that label 346 actually has only nine pieces in it.
1:14
So I can click into that label, and what I can do is I can add an adjustment. So I can say negative one, adjust by, so it'll go from ten down to nine, and then I can do Uh, I can add a custom option here that says an inventory count, save that, and I can select that as my inventory.
1:38
I my reason, and then if I want I can add an additional note, and then I can hit save. So that will update the value on this label.
1:46
And then now, if I'm confident that all of these are good, what I can do is I can select the check marks, check mark, for that bin and item.
1:57
It will select all of these labels for that one, and then I can use the edit fields option. To add a note, in this case I've added inventory count as a text field, with the idea that you could input a note, and this is fully determined by you, but I'm going to put in the date in my initials, and then
2:17
I'm going to click save. And this is how you would be able to show that these ones definitely got reviewed.
2:26
Uhm, and then you could go on to the next one. And you can continue following this format where you review them, click in, and individually modify the ones that, uhm, are wrong.
2:38
Uhm, if you were to find a box that, uh, let's say I find label, label one, 195, while I'm in this area, uhm, you'd be able to search for it over here, type in 195, and it would show you, okay, it says it's here, so, for this one, I'm gonna add and actually go in and just modify the location that it's
3:03
at to say, yep, I actually found it here, so I can update that inventory, clear out my search term. And now I should see, okay, great, it's showing up in the right location.
3:15
Now, let's say you find a box that doesn't have any label on it. Uhm, first you could set it aside and see, you know, if maybe it lost the label, you could find out if there's a box or one that you're missing.
3:31
And again, you could always, uhm, remove the group by bin if you prefer to do it by item, and then by bin, you could reverse the order there.
3:37
But if you do find that there's a box or something that just never got labeled, then you could use the add function to add that item.
3:45
And again, on the next page, it'll ask you for the reason why you're creating manual inventory. And again, you can select the option to say that it's from an inventory count.
3:53
And so, by using this process, you would be able to basically go through everything in an organized fashion, see which ones have already been reviewed.
4:06
They don't need to be repeated, uhm, and then eventually get through and, uhm, ensure that they've all been done. Uhm, in addition, you could use this page, uh, to export this, if it felt, uh, easier to modify, uhm, or make notes externally in a spreadsheet and then have someone come back later and do
4:28
manual data entry. Uhm, so yeah, those are my recommendations for doing an inventory count in Digit to get your inventory fully up to speed.
4:37
Uhm, let me know if you have any questions.
