What does Enable projects do?
When you turn on Enable projects, every sales order gets a Project ID and Project Name field. Use these to tag related sales orders under a shared project, which makes it easier to track and group work that spans multiple orders.
You'll find both fields on the sales order's Details page, in the right-hand panel.
Once you set a Project ID and Project Name, they replace the order's default title (like SO120) at the top of the order, showing the project ID and name instead.
Back on the Sales Orders table, Project ID and Project Name appear as their own columns.
You can filter or group by either one to pull up every sales order tied to the same project.
Right now, projects only connect to sales orders. Since a sales order can be linked to a manufacturing order, a project indirectly covers the manufacturing work tied to that order too. Projects don't yet connect to purchase orders or to CRM deals, coming soon- stay tuned!
What does Enable approvals do?
When you turn on Enable approvals, sales orders move through an approval step before they're ready to fulfill. Here's how it works:
A Manager or Admin creates a sales order. When it's submitted, the order enters a Pending approval state and stays fully editable while it waits.
An Admin then reviews it and can take one of three actions:
Approve, which locks the fields that affect cost or value and moves the order to Unfulfilled
Reject, which requires a reason and keeps the order editable so it can be revised and resubmitted
Reset to pending approval, which reopens an already-approved order for edits and sends it back through the approval step.
Only Admins can approve or reject a sales order. Managers and Admins can both create one.
đ Digit Tip: Enable approvals is currently a beta capability, so it may not appear in every account yet. Reach out to your Customer Success Manager if you'd like it enabled.
What does âOnly require approvals for orders at or aboveâ do?
This sets a dollar threshold for when approval is required.
Orders below the threshold move forward automatically.
Orders at or above it need an Admin's approval before they can proceed.
If you leave this field empty, every sales order requires approval, regardless of value.
âšď¸ Note: This setting only applies once Enable approvals is turned on.
What does Default sales order custom terms do?
Whatever you enter here automatically populates the terms field on every new sales order.
You can still edit the terms on an individual order, both while you're creating it and any time afterward.
Your sales order defaults are set up
With these settings configured, your sales orders will follow the project tracking, approval, and terms defaults that fit how your team works.
