Receive without a Purchase Order

Learn the streamlined process for receiving items without POs

Updated over 3 weeks ago

In this video, I demonstrate how to efficiently receive items in the warehouse without a corresponding PO. By using the "receive without PO" feature, warehouse workers can seamlessly select vendors, attach contacts, and receive items in real-time. I show how to receive, store, and label items, as well as finish the receiving process to generate a retroactive PO.

0:02 If you're receiving something into the warehouse that does not have a corresponding PO, you can click on the receive without PO button on the top right.

0:10 This opens a receive screen that will allow your warehouse workers to select a vendor, attach a primary contact, and begin receiving things off of a truck in real time as they happen.

0:23 Let's say the first thing they receive off the truck is this green colorant. They can come in here and receive, let's call it 500 grams in a palette, let's store it in R2, and let's print the label.

0:37 They can do this as many times as they need to actually go through and receive the full truckload, seeing the detail screen populate with any tag that's printed during this process.

0:47 When they're done, they can click on Finish Receiving, and Digit will automatically close that ticket out, And then, create a PO retroactively for them that will tie into that shipment they just received.

0:57 These POs will have a dash M on the end of them to indicate that it was a manually received shipment.

1:04 You can click on the PO to see that it was received manually with this information here. You can then go and edit this PO to update Unicom's status.

1:19 You can also go back into the Received Ticket to see a history of what was received. This is the second way that you can receive items in Digit if you don't have a PO at the beginning of the process.
