This connection uses the MCP (Model Context Protocol), which allows AI assistants to securely read and interact with your Digit data in real time.
ℹ️ Private beta: Digit AI is currently available to select customers in a private beta. To request access, contact your Customer Success Manager or reach out to us at [email protected].
What you can do with Digit AI
Once connected, you can use your AI assistant to look up your data and take action all without leaving the chat.
Look up your data
Query sales orders, purchase orders, quotes, and their line items
Check inventory levels, lot information, and warehouse locations
Browse your item catalog and bill of materials
Access your scorecard and daily metrics
Search the Digit Help Center without leaving your AI assistant
Ask high-level questions like “What are the most important things I should focus on today?” based on your live Digit data
Set up automated daily summaries — for example, a morning briefing of your top priorities generated from your real Digit data
Take action
Create and update sales orders and purchase orders
Add new items and companies to your account
Update existing items, companies, and order records
💡 Digit Tip: The more specific your prompts, the better your results. For example, instead of asking “How are my orders doing?”, try “Show me all open sales orders from this week sorted by value.”
Supported AI assistants
Digit's MCP server works with any AI assistant that supports MCP connectors. We've tested and documented setup steps for ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot Studio, Perplexity, Grok, Mistral AI, and Google Gemini. The setup looks different in each one, but the connection values are always the same:
MCP Server URL:
https://api.digit-software.com/mcpAuthentication: OAuth
Transport: Streamable HTTP
Using a different AI client? Any MCP-compatible assistant can connect using the values above — follow that platform's own MCP connector setup flow.
Connect ChatGPT to Digit
Use this method if you're setting up a personal ChatGPT account. You'll add Digit as a custom app using Developer Mode.
Video walkthrough: Connect Digit to ChatGPT Using MCP — Personal Account Setup
This video shows how to add Digit as a custom app in ChatGPT using Developer Mode and grant access to your Digit account.
Setup steps:
Open ChatGPT and click your name in the sidebar to open your settings.
Click the Apps tab.
Click Advanced settings.
Toggle Developer Mode on. The Create app button will appear in the modal header.
Click Create app
And fill in the Following:Name: Digit (or anything you’d like)
Description (optional): My Digit AI assistant
Connection URL: https://api.digit-software.com/mcp
Authentication: Leave as is
Check the I understand and want to continue checkbox, and click Create.
After a moment, you’ll be prompted to sign in. Click Sign in with Digit.
If you’re already logged into Digit in the same browser, you’ll be taken directly to the permissions page. Otherwise, sign in as you normally would.
Click Allow to grant ChatGPT access to your Digit data.
Once connected, the window will close and Digit will appear as connected. Close settings and start asking ChatGPT questions about your Digit data.
⚠️ Heads up: You’re using Advanced settings because Digit’s ChatGPT app is currently awaiting approval from OpenAI. Once approved, you’ll be able to connect directly from the Apps directory without needing Developer Mode.
Connect Claude Personal to Digit
Use this method if you're setting up a personal Claude account. You'll add Digit as a custom connector from the Customize panel.
Setup steps:
Video walkthrough: Connect Digit to ChatGPT Using MCP — Personal Account Setup
This video shows how to add Digit as a custom connector in Claude and grant access to your Digit account.
Open Claude and click on Customize in the left side panel.
Click on Connectors.
Click the + button next to the search icon and select Add custom connector.
In the Add custom connector modal, fill in the following:
Name: Digit (or anything you’d like)
Remote MCP server URL: https://api.digit-software.com/mcp
Click Add.
Digit will appear under Not connected. Click Connect.
If you’re already logged into Digit in the same browser, you’ll be taken directly to the permissions page. Otherwise, sign in as you normally would.
Review the data Claude will have access to and click Allow.
Once connected, set the permission to Always allow so Claude doesn’t ask for approval every time.
Start a new chat, and you’re ready to go!
✅ Best practice: Setting permissions to Always allow saves you from approving each request manually every time you use Digit AI in a new conversation.
Connect Microsoft Copilot Studio to Digit
Add Digit as a tool inside one of your Copilot Studio agents so it can read and act on your Digit data.
📘Note:
These steps apply to Microsoft Copilot Studio, which is Microsoft’s platform for building custom AI agents. Not the consumer Copilot in Word, Teams, or Microsoft 365.
You’ll need an existing Copilot Studio agent set up before you can add Digit to it.
Setup steps:
Open your agent in Copilot Studio and go to the Tools page.
Click Add a tool.
Click New tool.
Select Model Context Protocol. The MCP onboarding wizard appears.
Fill in the required fields:
Server name: Digit
Server description: A short description of Digit — this helps Copilot decide when to call the server.
Server URL: https://api.digit-software.com/mcp
Under Authentication type, select OAuth 2.0.
Under OAuth 2.0 type, select Dynamic discovery.
Click Create.
On the Add tool dialog, click Create a new connection.
Click Add to agent to finish.
Your Copilot Studio agent is now connected to Digit
Connect Perplexity to Digit

Open Perplexity and go to Account settings → Connectors.
Click + Custom connector in the top right.
Select Remote.
Paste the MCP Server URL: https://api.digit-software.com/mcp
Choose the authentication method.
Set the transport to Streamable HTTP.
Accept the risk warning and click Add.
Digit is now available in Perplexity as a connector.

Sign in to Grok and click Skills and Connectors in the left sidebar.
Click the Connectors tab.
Click New Connector in the top right.
Select Custom — Add your own custom connector.
Fill in the custom connector information:
Give the connector a name (such as “Digit”)
Paste the URL: https://api.digit-software.com/mcp
Click Add Connector. A pop-up appears — sign in to Digit if you aren’t already, then click Allow to grant Grok permission.
Digit now appears under Installed in your Connectors tab.
Open a new chat and ask Grok about your Digit data to confirm the connection.
Connect Mistral AI to Digit
Add Digit as a custom MCP connector in Mistral AI so you can ask about your data and take action in any new chat.
Setup steps:
Click Context in the left sidebar.
Click Connectors in the expanded menu.
From the My Connectors page, click the + Add Connector button on the right.
Switch to the Custom MCP Connector tab.
Fill in the details:
Title: Digit
Server URL: https://api.digit-software.com/mcp
Description: Optional
Authentication Method: OAuth2.1
Click Connect.
You'll be taken to Digit to sign in and grant Mistral permission. If you're already signed in to Digit in the same browser, you'll go straight to the permissions screen. Click Allow to finish.
Once allowed, the Digit connected modal appears. Click New Chat to start using your new connector.
Mistral can now read and act on your Digit data in any new chat.
Google Gemini
Add Digit as a custom MCP connector in Mistral AI so you can ask about your data and take action in any new chat.
Setup steps:
📘Note: Gemini MCP connectors are only available in Gemini Enterprise, and the feature is currently in Preview at Google. The consumer Gemini app does not support custom MCP servers.
If your company uses Gemini Enterprise and you'd like to connect Digit, the setup is more involved than with other platforms.
Your IT admin will need to configure an OAuth client with your identity provider (Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, or Google) before the connection can be made. They can follow Google's setup guide here: Set up your custom MCP server data store.
When configuring the connection, use the values listed in the Supported AI assistants section above
Tips for getting the best results
Here are some tips to help you get the most out of your AI assistant with Digit:
Be as specific as possible with your prompts. Instead of 'Create a sales order', try 'Create a sales order for Acme Corp with 10 units of SKU-1234 due next Friday.'
Not sure what you can ask? Ask your AI assistant to list its available tools and resources, and it will tell you exactly what it has access to.
You can use your AI assistant to search the Digit Help Center directly. Just ask your question, and it will look it up for you.
Always verify important information, as AI responses may not always be accurate.
For the best experience, use each platform's stronger, reasoning-capable models (for example, Claude Opus or GPT-5.5) and experiment with higher thinking settings where they're supported.
ℹ️ Note: This feature is currently in beta. Your feedback helps us improve. If something isn’t working well or needs improvement, share it with your Customer Success Manager.
The AI assistant is connected and ready to use
You can now ask your AI assistant questions about your Digit data: sales orders, inventory, purchase orders, scorecard metrics, and more. The more specific your prompts, the more useful your results.
If you have additional questions, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager or contact us at [email protected].
