Step 1: Access the Import Wizard

  1. Navigate to Settings: From your main dashboard, click on Settings.

  2. Open the Import Tab: Browse to the Import tab within the platform settings to begin the process.

  3. Click on Bill of Materials (BOMs).

  4. Click the Get started button.

  5. Drag and drop your file into the window or click to browse your computer

Step 2: Upload and Map Your Data

Once you have uploaded your spreadsheet, you must map your columns to the corresponding fields in Digit.

  1. Review Your File: Click Next to start the mapping step.

  2. Map Template Fields: On the left, you will see Digit's template fields. Note that fields marked with a red asterisk (*) are required.

  3. Match Columns: Select the matching column from your file using the dropdown menus on the right.

  4. Proceed: Once all required fields are mapped, click Next.

Step 3: Validate and Correct Errors

Digit will validate your data before finalizing the import to ensure your records remain clean and reliable.

  1. Identify Errors: Any data errors will be highlighted in red.

  2. Edit Directly: You can correct errors by clicking directly on the table cell or by using the Find and Replace tool at the top.

  3. Clean Your Data:

  4. Submit: Once the table is clear of red highlights, click Submit.

Step 4: Verify Your Import

It may take a few moments for the system to process large data sets. To confirm the import was successful:

  1. Go to Items: Navigate to the Items page.

  2. Search for an Item: Look for an item that was included in your recent BOM import.

  3. Check the Production Tab: Open the item detail view and click the Production tab. You should see your BOM listed there successfully.

After confirming your BOM appears correctly under the item’s Production tab, you’re ready to start using it in day-to-day workflows. From here, you can continue building out your item data, refine component quantities, and keep improving accuracy as your processes evolve.
