In this video, I demonstrate how to connect Digit with QuickBooks Desktop. We start by setting up the integration, syncing data, and reviewing customers, vendors, and items. I guide through creating sales orders, invoices, and purchase orders. The process is seamless, and I recommend setting up auto-sync for efficiency.

Hi In this video I'll show how to connect Digit and QuickBooks Desktop and sync data between the two systems.
0:08
On the right side we have QuickBooks Desktop with our company Saver Harvest Code.
This company has a few items, both raw materials and finished goods.
It also has a few customers, it has a few vendors.
left side we have our Digit account. This is a completely new account, so there's no items and there are also no customers or vendors.
0:35
To get started setting up the integration, we'll navigate to Settings,
then to integration. And we'll click Connect to QuickBooks Desktop.
This will open up a guided integration setup flow.
0:52
Saver Harvest Co. And we'll point to the path where
we have saved our QuickBooks Desktop Company file.
For that, I'm going to go to the File Explorer.
Locate the correct file, Saver Harvest Co, and copy the file path by clicking Copy as Path.
Next up, we're going to paste it in here. Make sure to remove any quotation marks
that may have been added. This completes step one,
and we're ready to click Submit.
1:25
In the next step, we're going to download the QuickBooks Web Connector file.
If you haven't already, this would be a good time to install the QuickBooks
Web Connector tool. To do so,
simply navigate into its website and download the
correct version of the QuickBooks Web Connector
To open up the QuickBooks Web Connector, we're going to go to File,
App Management, and Update Web Services.
1:55
Next up, we're going to open up the QuickBooks Web Connector file that we
just downloaded. So I'm going to go to Downloads here,
um, and then double-click on this file.
This will bring up another window where I will authorize the connection between Digit
and my QuickBooks Desktop account. All we need to do here is click OK.
2:21
If this is the first time you're setting up an authorization between Digit and
QuickBooks Desktop, you can also choose the permissions.
Um, we highly recommend to answer this question with yes,
always allow access even when my QuickBooks isn't running.
This allows you to sync data between the two systems,
um, by just having the Web Connector open,
even if QuickBooks Desktop is not open,
which overall makes this a much more seamless syncing experience.
2:49
In this In this I've already set this up. In the in the past,
I don't have to do this again, um, and we can click next here.
now we can start the syncing. You can see Digit has already been added
as an authorized application. So all we have to do now is select this
account. Um, as a next step,
we'll be asked for a password. The password is right here.
So all we need to do is copy and paste it in here.
Um, click OK. Save the password.
And then update the selected account.
3:20
This will run the first sync of data between the two systems.
On the left side, we see the authentication is now complete.
We can click close window here.
the first sync has been completed.
3:37
So we're going to refresh on the digit side. You can now view integration
settings. Here, you need to make two selections,
which Cost of Goods Sold account from your QuickBooks Desktop chart of accounts
should be used, uhm, in the same thing for Sales of Product Income.
3:53
this will start the final sync.
again, we can see now the sync is complete.
Let's check out whether the data transferred successfully.
We'll start by looking at our customers and vendors.
4:05
We can see here the list of customers on the right in QuickBooks Desktop,
and we can see them in our company list in Digit. If I navigate
to Costco Wholesale, I can see they're correctly categorized as a customer,
and the address has been ported over as well.
So this has all worked successfully.
4:23
Next up, let's check our items. On the right side,
you can see the items that we had in QuickBooks Desktop.
Now, again, the items here within Digit, I can see they were all ported
over successfully. I can now make some changes to the units of measurements,
or to the by-mix cell categorizations.
initial sync is now complete.
4:41
up, let's sync some additional data between the systems.
First, we're gonna create a sales order for Whole Foods Market.
We're gonna add the, uh, gourmet ketchup here as the product that's being sold.
Um, this is gonna be 3000 pieces for 13 cents each.
And then we're gonna create the water.
Next, we're gonna go to the invoice column and click Not Invoiced.
Clicking on this allows us to create a new invoice.
This will create an invoice for the sales order within QuickBooks Desktop.
5:18
Next up, we're gonna create a purchase order.
In this case, we are going to buy from McCormick and Company.
you Show it to ourselves.
Building same as shipping. And then from them,
we're gonna buy some onion powder. I'm gonna add a quantity here.
2000. And this will be for 5 cents each.
We're gonna create this peel and save it. Here,
we're gonna navigate to the bill column.
Click Not Bill and create the bill within QuickBooks Desktop.
navigating over to, Do QuickBooks Desktop. Opening up the web connector again.
5:58
The current settings are to auto run the sync every 5 minutes.
You can change this to as often as every minute or every hour.
You can also manually decide to sync whenever you want to.
sync here. .
6:33
Alright, the manual sync is not complete. Let's navigate over to QuickBooks Desktop to
our- The customer center. And as expected,
we can now see the first transaction for the customer Whole Foods market for
$390. Opening up this invoice,
we see the customer with the correct bill to address,
as well as the quantity and item code and price that we had just
set up in-digit. Let's check the same thing for vendors.
7:03
We're gonna go to the vendor center. Here we see for my Cormac and
company. There's a bill set up. with the PO number one for an
amount of $100. And again,
the onion powder item that we set up within digit,
quantity 2005 cents, and everything ported over correctly.
7:22
So this was a short demonstration of how to integrate digit with QuickBooks Desktop,
and how to sync data between the two systems.
The process is very fast, and the synchronization runs through the QuickBooks Web
Connector automatically in the background as frequently as you want to,
which means you won't have to copy and paste data manually the twin.
In the two systems. I hope this was helpful.
